Dental Implants
Dental implant is a replacement for root of a tooth. They are used to secure crowns to the jawbone using titanium and titanium alloy. These metals are used because they are lightweight and biocompatible.
Implants require a procedure to create channels in the jawbone so that it can be fitted with the bone. We need to ensure the bone is properly fused to implant screw before the crown placement. This fusion process generally required two to six month duration.

Is there a minimum age for dental implant treatment?
In general, dental implants should be placed only after growth of the patient has stopped, which is around 18 years. This ensures that the implant is in the right place to hold the future tooth after the completion of growth.
In case of excessive upper jaw bone resorption, conventional implant treatment cannot be performed in this situation we do Zygomatic implants.
