Master Dental Check Up
Complete oral examination is much more important rather than just seeing the mouth. This will help us to identify oral diseases at an early stage, their by reducing patient’s suffering, treatment cost and good treatment outcome etc.
Each disease process may have individual manifestations in an individual patient. Careful assessment will guide the clinician to accurate diagnosis.
Master dental check up would include:
- Complete oral examination
- Full mouth radiograph
- Oral cancer screening
Oral cancer
Oral cancer can form in any part of the mouth or throat. Most oral cancers begin in the tongue and in the floor of the mouth. Anyone can get oral cancer, but the risk is higher if you are male, over age 40, use of tobacco or alcohol etc.
What are the signs of oral cancer?
Oral cancer can appear as red or white patches, lumps, swelling or other problems.
How it is identified and confirmed?
Simple tests and examination procedures performed at the chairside. We use additional tests to aid in identifying areas of abnormal cells in your mouth. Scalpel biopsy is considered the gold standard in oral cancer diagnosis. The removal of small piece of tissue to look for cancer cells is called a biopsy. Usually, this procedure is done under local anaesthesia.
Other less invasive techniques such as brush biopsy, Toluidine blue, fluorescent imaging and exfoliative cytology are also performed in our clinic.
X-ray, CT scan, PET scan, MRI Scan, Endoscopy also advised to check the extend and location of affected area.
Treatment modalities?
People with early oral cancer may be treated with surgery, radiation therapy or chemotherapy. People with advanced oral cancer may have a combination of treatments.
